Before I Knew the Names
A 10-Minute Intuitive Practice to Reconnect with Your Inner Wisdom
đ¨ Before I Knew the Names, I Knew the Dance
Before I knew what tarot cards were...
Before I heard the word Reiki, or stumbled upon the Gene Keys, or Numerology, or knew what personal development, or spiritual insight, or intuition, or mysticism wasâŚ
Before I learned about meditation or contemplation...
I created.
I moved. I expressed.
Before I ever intentionally tried to âbe in spiritâ or âtap into intuition,â I swam in it.
I swam in that sea like it was the only water I had ever known.
As an artist, creation has always led me to my intuitionâbefore anything else.
Before names.
Before systems and frameworks.
Before religion or books or spiritual paths.
Creation has always been my guide.
In my most recent work, Iâve been exploring the dance between sacred stillness and sacred action.
The rhythm between chaos and order.
How one dissolves into the otherâagain and againâand how that flow creates the beautiful pulse of a life fully lived.
This dance is at the heart of our journey as seekers.
Not to pick one side, but to move with all of it.
To surrender and to rise.
To listen and to act.
To feel deeply and to create boldly.
In creation process, many truths are whispered. Much wisdom is revealed.
đ Will you play with me for a moment?
This is an invitation. A sacred 10-minute pause to remember how creativity can connect you with your intuition. And to see what insights and wisdom might arise in the making. (No skill needed.)
It is based on the process I use to create the stillness and the space to hear my intuition while painting.
đ Grab a pen and a piece of paperâanything! A sticky note, a journal, the back of an envelope.
Step 1: Find Stillness.
Close your eyes. Feel your breath. Allow yourself to receive while you listen to this:
Click here for Reiki-infused music â
If you're Reiki-attuned, offer yourself a few moments of energy. Otherwise, let the music be your guide.
âď¸At the end of the music, see a simple shapeâcircle, triangle, rectangle, starâand quickly capture it on your paper.
Step 2: Invite the Dance.
Now play this ecstatic track. Let it awaken your spirit.
Click here for movement/dance music â
âď¸Move your bodyâhowever spirit wants to move through youâand then let your pen reflect that movement on the paper. Let that movement wind around, or through the shape you capture in Step 1.
Don't try to make art. Let the dance between chaos and order express itself. Let it be messy. Let it be beautiful. Let it be you.
Step 3: Capture the Wisdom.
đď¸ Observe your doodle. What do you notice?
đListen to your intuition. What does it want you to know?

Karen, I can relate and was actually thinking about this recently, how creating was something I did before I had a name for what I was doing. Love how you've described the dance!
